I know Novastar almost died in 1998 and they hated repo and went through great lengths through NIMs (re-securitize) to lengthen term. Oh, well. If it's any consolation, David, I probably broke even between capital gains and losses on that company.
This is a grinding affair compared to 1998. Do you think a Deerfield or a Thornburg would have had their repo lines yanked?

I think RWT pulled back hard on repo lines last year, I have to look at the latest Redwood Review again.

I know Novastar almost died in 1998 and they hated repo and went through great lengths through NIMs (re-securitize) to lengthen term. They didn't get into the whole repo-financed deals, and had only a modest amount of corporate debt.

On that note, I think that Redwood Trust will eventually do very well, even if short-term results will be bad.
