How will the various nations of the world fare through the coming demographic crises?"
Uh, I think we know the answer(s) to that one. We just keep hoping we are wrong.

“Good questions all, but I would ask the following questions:

How will the various nations of the world fare through the coming demographic crises?”

Uh, I think we know the answer(s) to that one. Just wondering if there's an omission in this line:
"The last will pay for the book on its own. I have used the technique twice before, and it works. That said, that I have used it twice before means it is not unique to the author."
Did you mean to write "that I have used it doesn't mean it is not unique...."
In the event it is, I'll look it up in the book, which I intend to buy anyway.
Otherwise, may I request a post that details, a la your used car post, your approach to buying new cars?

David,<br

I am not as conversant with Scripture as I should be, and I appreciate the reference to Matthew.

Many thanks for your reply, David. I am an elder in a protestant church. I could have used "Mother Teresa's" given name, but who would have gotten that? I agree with what Jesus said in Matthew 23:8-10, where he told us not to give special names to religious leaders, aside from God-ordained ones, and not ones that are particularly close and emotive, like Father, Master, and Teacher. The primary relationship in the Christian Church is that of brother.
Though I am an elder, I discourage use of the term toward my office. I counsel my brothers as best I can, when invited.
So, with "Mother Teresa," I would never call her that, but many know her by that moniker, so I put it in quotes. In the same way that I don't think there can be a "war on terror;" people seem to know what the term means, but terror is abstract, and terrorists don't leave forwarding addresses. There can't be a war on terror. It is just a convenient title for politicians who want to score points on national security, while not making us any more secure.
Does that help? I mean no offense by the quotes, but my conscience bothers me if I don't put them in.

Dear Benedict,

I am an elder in a protestant church. I hope you won't mind an off-topic comment. In referencing Mother Teresa, you placed what I have come to think of as "scare quotes" around her name. You did the same thing when you used the phrase "war on terror".
As a believing Catholic, I am curious as to your rationale for placing Mother Teresa's name in quotes.
Thanks again for your work on this blog, which I greatly enjoy.

Thank you, David, for reviewing what looks to be an interesting book.
